ERGENEKON Epic;

There was no place in Turkish provinces that did not sing Turkish arrows, did not have enough Turkish arms, and did not bow to Turks. This situation made foreign tribes jealous. Foreign tribes united and marched on the Turks. Thereupon, the Turks gathered their tents and flocks together; They dug a ditch around it and waited. When the enemy came, the fighting began. They fought for ten days. In the end, the Turks prevailed.

Upon this defeat, the khans and beggars of the enemy tribes gathered at the hunting ground and talked. They said:

"If we don't cheat the Turks, we will be in bad shape!"

At dawn they dropped their weight and fled, as if they had been raided. The Turks,

They said "they are out of power, they are running away" and followed them. When the enemy saw the Turks, he turned suddenly. The shooting has begun. The Turks were defeated. The enemy came to their tents, killing the Turks. They plundered their tents and properties so much that not a single black hair tent remained. They killed off all of the adults and capture the minors.

At that time, Il Kagan was at the head of the Turks. Il Kagan also had many sons. However, all but one of his children died in this war. She had her son Kayi (Kayan) married that year. Il Kagan also had a nephew named Tokuz Oguz (Dokuz Oguz); he too had survived. Kayı and Tokuz Oguz were held captive. Ten days later they both took their wives and fled on their horses. They returned to their Turkish homeland. Here they found camels, horses, oxen and sheep fleeing from the enemy. They sat and thought: “Four sides are full of enemies. Let's follow a place in the mountains where people can't go wrong, let's make a home and sit." They took their herds and migrated towards the mountain.

They came to a point where there were no routes except the one they came from. This only road was so steep that it was difficult to walk, be it a camel or a horse; If he had landed on the wrong foot, he would have rolled over and shattered.

In the country where the Turks arrived, there were streams, springs, various plants, fruits, and hunts. Seeing such a place, they thanked the great God. In the winter they ate the meat of their animals, in the summer they drank the milk. They wore his skin. They called this country "ERGENEKON".

Time passed, ages passed; Kayı and Tokuz Oguz had many children. Kayı had many children, Tokuz Oguz had fewer. They called the children from Kayı Kayat. Some of the children from Tokuz were called Tokuz, and some of them were Türülken. For years, the children of these two braves stayed in Ergenekon; multiplied, multiplied, multiplied. After that four hundread years past.

Four hundred years later, they and their time increased so much that they could not fit into Ergenekon. The conference gathered to find a cure. They said:

“We have heard from our ancestors; Apart from Ergenekon, there were large countries and beautiful dormitories. Our homeland used to be in those places. Let's explore the mountains and find a way. Let's migrate and leave Ergenekon. Whoever befriends us other than Ergenekon, let's be friends with him, and whoever is hostile to us, let's be enemies with him."

Upon this decision of the congress, the Turks sought a way out of Ergenekon; they couldn't find it. Then a blacksmith said:

“There is an iron mine on this mountain. It is similar to a bare coat of iron. If we melt its iron, maybe the mountain will give us a pass.”

They went and saw the iron mine. They placed a layer of wood and a layer of coal on the wide part of the mountain. They filled the bottom, top, side and direction of the mountain with wood-coal. They made seventy big bellows out of seventy leathers and put them on seventy places. They fired charcoal and fanned it. With God's help, the iron mountain became hot, melted, and flowed. It was a long way for a loaded camel to come out.

Then a Gray Wolf with a sky mane appeared; unknown where it came from. Bozkurt came, stood in front of the Turk, stopped. Everyone understood that he will show the way. Bozkurt walked; and then the Turkish nation. And the Turks, under the leadership of Bozkurt, came out of Ergenekon on the holy day of that holy year, its holy month.

The Turks remembered that day, that hour well. This holy day became the feast of the Turks. Every year, great ceremonies are held on that day. A piece of iron is heated in the fire. First, the Turkish kagan grabs this iron and puts it in the anvil and beats it with a hammer. Then, other Turkish beggars do the same and celebrate the holiday.

When they left Ergenekon, the khan of the Turks was Börteçine (Bozkurt), a descendant of Kayı Han. He sent ambassadors to all provinces to Bortechin; He reported that the Turks had left Ergenekon. Until, as before, all provinces came under the command of the Turks. Who welcomed this well, Kagan knew Börteçine; who did not receive well, opposed. Those who opposed were fought and the Turks defeated them all. They made the Turkish State sovereign in all directions.
